1020 Documents and World Language Advisement Chart
The Wyoming School-University Partnership sponsors secondary to postsecondary transitions work in subject areas like the world languages. The state’s world languages faculty have made great strides talking through the first year sequence of postsecondary language instruction.
For almost two years, a dedicated work group representing secondary and postsecondary instruction has taken the lead in this effort. The list of workgroup members is provided below.
The work group created student learning expectation documents for French, German, and Spanish 1010 and now, 1020. The plan is to have draft documents for 2030 ready for examination during the April 12 meeting in Casper, later this spring. Below, above, you can view draft student expectation documents for the 1020 course in three world languages.
In addition, through the significant efforts of Carol Kirkwood, retired Laramie High French teacher, the work group created a flow chart that we think may be helpful in advising students who will go on to college and university level language study. We seek your feedback to that document as well.
Please submit all feedback to Audrey Kleinsasser at dakota@uwyo.edu by Tuesday, January 31.
Our questions:
1. Is the document helpful to you as a teacher?
2. Will you use it in working with or advising students?
3. What information is missing, information that students need to know to be successful in the 1020 course?
